The Federal Government received N653.5 billion from the Federation Account Allocation Committee disbursement for December 2025, as states and local government councils shared a combined N1.22 trillion from the monthly revenue allocation.

The FAAC disclosed that a total sum of N1.969 trillion was distributed among the three tiers of government during its January meeting in Abuja. The figure represents revenue generated in December 2025.

A communiqué issued after the meeting and signed by the Director of Press and Public Relations at the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, Bawa Mokwa, stated that the distributable revenue was made up of N1.084 trillion from statutory revenue, N846.507 billion from value added tax, and N38.11 billion from the electronic money transfer levy.

According to the communiqué, the total gross revenue available for the month stood at N2.58 trillion. From this amount, N104.697 billion was deducted as cost of collection, while N511.585 billion was set aside for transfers, refunds and savings.

It added that statutory revenue dropped to N1.63 trillion in December, representing a decline of N105.2 billion when compared with the N1.73 trillion recorded in November. In contrast, VAT revenue witnessed a significant rise, increasing to N913.957 billion from N563.042 billion in the previous month, an increase of about N350 billion.

From the total amount shared, the Federal Government received N653.5 billion, while state governments got N706.4 billion. Local government councils received N513.2 billion. In addition, N96.083 billion was paid to oil producing states as derivation revenue.

A breakdown of the statutory revenue allocation showed that the Federal Government received N520.8 billion, states got N264.16 billion, and local governments received N203.656 billion.

From the VAT component, the Federal Government took N126.976 billion, states received N423.254 billion, while local governments got N296.277 billion. Proceeds from the electronic money transfer levy were shared with the Federal Government receiving N5.71 billion, states N19.05 billion, and local governments N13.33 billion.

FAAC noted that revenues from company income tax, import duties and VAT recorded notable increases during the period. However, receipts from oil and gas royalties, excise duties, petroleum profit tax, CET levies and electronic money transfer levy declined.
