Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola has assured members of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State that he would not allow the state to lose direction, declaring that he is prepared to lead with responsibility and focus.
Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, gave the assurance while delivering his acceptance speech shortly after his affirmation as the Ogun APC consensus candidate for the 2027 governorship race.
Speaking before party leaders and stakeholders at the State Caucus Strategic Meeting, the senator said he fully understands the weight of the responsibility ahead and is determined to build on existing structures without disrupting progress.
“The ship I’m about to take over, I will make sure it does not derail,” he said, drawing applause from party faithful at the gathering.
He expressed deep appreciation to Governor Dapo Abiodun and other leaders of the party for the confidence reposed in him, describing the endorsement as a call to greater service.
Adeola noted that his emergence as consensus candidate reflects unity within the party, adding that he would work to sustain that unity across all levels.
“I am grateful for this affirmation. It is a call to serve, and I will carry everyone along as we move forward together,” he added.
