The All Progressives Congress received a major boost in Ogun State as leaders and stakeholders of Ogere International Market declared their unwavering support for the party’s governorship aspirant, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, revealing that they had mobilised over 6,000 voters in support of his 2027 bid.

The market leaders made the declaration during a meeting with Adeola, where they also pledged to intensify grassroots mobilisation efforts across Ogere and neighbouring communities to ensure victory for the APC in future elections.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the General Chairman of Ogere International Market, Alhaji Bura Buni, expressed appreciation to God for the opportunity to meet the senator, noting that traders in the market had closely followed his political trajectory and developmental interventions across Ogun State.

He stated that the market community had been mobilising support for Adeola long before the commencement of formal political activities.

According to Buni, the market leadership embarked on an extensive voter registration campaign across the market and surrounding communities, resulting in the registration of over 6,000 eligible voters.

He added that the exercise remained ongoing as traders continued to encourage residents and members of their households to obtain Permanent Voter Cards.

The market chairman explained that the mobilisation efforts were voluntary and driven by the conviction that Adeola possesses the leadership qualities required to move Ogun State forward.

He also commended Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration for maintaining peace and creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

Buni further disclosed that attempts by opposition elements to secure the support of the market through gifts and financial inducements were rejected by the market leadership.

He assured Adeola that traders in Ogere International Market, as well as members of the Hausa community in Ogere and Iperu, would stand firmly behind the APC and work towards the success of all its candidates in future elections.

Also speaking, Mallam Muhideen Adewole reaffirmed his loyalty and support for Adeola, recounting personal sacrifices he had made in support of the APC governorship project.

The Iyaloja of Ogere, Alhaja Falilat, also reaffirmed the market’s commitment to Adeola’s governorship ambition, noting that market leaders had consistently encouraged traders and residents to support the APC aspirant.

She described Ogere International Market as one of the major commercial hubs in the state and appealed for the establishment of an additional polling unit around the tollgate area to accommodate the growing voting population within the market environment.

Responding, Adeola expressed appreciation to the delegation for its loyalty, commitment and sustained support for the APC.

He commended the market leadership for its dedication to voter mobilisation and grassroots political participation, describing the efforts as a demonstration of genuine commitment to democratic engagement.

The senator disclosed that he had received several positive reports about the market and its leadership and promised to personally visit Ogere International Market to interact directly with traders and assess their needs.

Adeola assured the delegation that his administration would build on the achievements of Governor Abiodun and continue to implement programmes aimed at improving the welfare of traders, artisans and residents across Ogun State.

As a demonstration of appreciation for the market’s support and mobilisation efforts, the senator announced a donation of 100 bags of rice and N10m to the market community.

He also assured the traders that issues raised during the engagement, including the request for additional voting facilities, would receive due attention.

The meeting ended with members of the delegation reaffirming their commitment to Adeola’s governorship aspiration and pledging continued support for the APC as grassroots mobilisation efforts intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.
