Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed grief over the death of veteran Yoruba actor, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
Sanwo-Olu, in a condolence message, described the death of the veteran actor as deeply painful and a great loss to Nigeria’s creative industry.
The governor commiserated with Ogogo’s family, friends, colleagues and fans, noting that the late actor used his talent to entertain Nigerians and tell stories that reflected society.
According to him, Ogogo’s remarkable career earned him the love and respect of Nigerians, while his contributions to the entertainment industry would remain memorable.
Sanwo-Olu said, “His death is deeply painful and a great loss to Nigeria’s creative industry. Ogogo was a gifted actor who used his talent to entertain and tell stories that reflected our society.”
He added that the late actor’s impact extended beyond his performances, as he touched many lives through his career and creative works.
The governor prayed for the repose of Ogogo’s soul, asking Almighty God to grant him eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus and give his family, friends and colleagues the strength to bear the loss.
Sanwo-Olu also prayed that the memory of the veteran actor would continue to live on through the many lives he touched during his lifetime.
