Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ibrahim Isiaka Ayokunle, has reaffirmed his support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, urging party members to close ranks and work together to secure victory in the 2027 general election.

Also in attendance were Governor’s Liaison Officers, local government and ward executive committee members, among other party stakeholders.

Addressing the gathering, Isiaka said the APC primary elections had been concluded and candidates had emerged for the various elective positions, urging members to put their differences behind them and focus on the collective interest of the party.

He said, “The APC primary election had come and gone and had produced candidates for the various elective positions. There should be no grudges, bitterness or actions capable of undermining the unity of the party.”

The lawmaker urged all tendencies within the party to channel their energy towards securing the success of the APC and its candidates in the 2027 general election.

Isiaka also reaffirmed his support for Adeleye as the APC candidate for Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, calling on his supporters to join hands with other party members to mobilise votes for her and other candidates of the party.

He noted that the APC had recorded encouraging growth in its electoral performance across previous election cycles in the constituency, expressing confidence that the party would secure more votes in 2027.

He therefore charged members to return to their respective wards and commence vigorous grassroots mobilisation and canvassing ahead of the election.

Earlier, Chief Derin Adebiyi said the primary election was over and should no longer be allowed to generate acrimony or division among party members.

Adebiyi explained that the meeting was convened at Isiaka’s instance to sustain unity among his supporters and the wider APC family, stressing that all tendencies should now work towards the candidacy and victory of Adeleye.

He urged party members to reconcile their differences and mobilise voters across their respective wards for the APC.

Similarly, party chieftains, including Hamzat, Oduwole and Sogbamu, commended Isiaka for his resilience and commitment to the party.

They described the gathering as a demonstration of political maturity, party loyalty and belief in party supremacy, stressing that the primary election was a concluded process and should not become a source of division.

They consequently urged members to commence massive grassroots canvassing and mobilisation for the party’s victory in 2027.

In her remarks, Adeleye applauded Isiaka for convening the meeting, describing it as a demonstration of party supremacy and the progressive ideals of the APC.

She said the gathering had reinforced the understanding that the party was bigger than individual interests, tendencies and past disagreements, adding that political differences should not be allowed to undermine the collective objective of winning the 2027 election.

The former commissioner called on party leaders, former aspirants, women, youths, ward executives and grassroots mobilisers to embrace genuine reconciliation and make the election a collective project.

Adeleye also expressed her readiness to work with every member of the party, irrespective of their positions during the primary election, noting that every relationship, structure and supporter remained an asset to the party.

She said, “In the spirit of this meeting, I therefore urge all members of the party to return to their various wards with renewed commitment and unity, translating the spirit of reconciliation into massive votes for APC and a decisive victory in Ifo/Ewekoro and across our dear State.”
