Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has featured on popular Nigerian content creator Isbae U’s comedy podcast, ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’.
The appearance was announced by Isbae U, whose real name is Ridwan Abidemi Adebayo, through a video clip shared on Saturday, showing the former president as the latest guest on the widely watched online interview programme.
Launched in December 2023, ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’ is a roast and satire podcast hosted by Isbae U, known for his unconventional and humorous style of interviewing prominent personalities.
In the 24-second teaser, Obasanjo is seen sipping water while listening to the host, who introduced him jokingly as Nigeria’s former president “who worked for me” between 1999 and 2007.
“You should have asked for permission before sipping water,” Isbae U told the former president in a playful opening exchange.
Obasanjo’s appearance adds another prominent name to the growing list of personalities featured on the podcast.
Previous guests have included veteran actors Pete Edochie, Jide Kosoko, Yemi Solade and Kate Henshaw, as well as musicians Odumodublvck and Bella Shmurda.
Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface, comedians Bovi and Shank Comics, and controversial personalities including Bobrisky, James Brown and Tacha have also appeared on the programme.
The full episode featuring the former president is expected to attract significant attention given Obasanjo’s long public career and the unconventional format of Isbae U’s podcast.
