Former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, and ex-Senate President, Senator David Mark, have emerged as interim national officers of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
While Senator David Mark was announced as the interim National Chairman of the party, Aregbesola has been appointed as the National Secretary.
Confirming the development, Aregbesola, a former Governor of Osun State, officially accepted his appointment through a letter addressed to leaders and stakeholders of the party on Tuesday.
“It is with deep humility, a profound sense of duty, and unwavering hope for our people, nation, race, and party that I accept the appointment as the National Secretary of our great party,” Aregbesola stated.
He expressed gratitude to the leadership of the ADC for the confidence reposed in him, while urging party members to uphold democratic ideals and strengthen the party as a true vehicle for national development.
“A political party is not a platform for opportunism or personal ambition. A party is a living institution built on values, guided by ideals, and accountable to the people it seeks to serve,” Aregbesola declared.
He further stressed the need for parties to mobilize, educate, empower, and organise citizens towards meaningful emancipation and development.
