The Ondo State Police Command has announced the death of the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Kajola Police Station, Odigbo Local Government Area, Mr. Nimrod Anaka.
The command’s spokesperson, Ayanlade Olushola, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday, describing it as a sad loss to the command.
“I can confirm that the DPO (Anaka) has died, but it’s only medical experts that can confirm what caused his death. His age and state of origin will be made known to the public later,” Olushola stated.
According to reports, the officer was said to have developed a sudden illness and died on his way to a hospital for medical attention on Tuesday.
The development has thrown officers and men attached to Kajola Police Station into mourning, with colleagues describing him as a dedicated officer.
Sources disclosed that his remains have been deposited at a mortuary.
