Suspected kidnappers in Anambra State have reportedly killed a boy identified as Emmanuel after he allegedly refused their order to sexually assault his own sister during an attack.
Human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, disclosed the incident in a social media post, stating that Emmanuel was abducted alongside his two sisters by armed men. When the family failed to meet the ransom demand, the captors allegedly subjected the children to degrading and inhumane treatment.
Gwamnishu said the abductors ordered the boy to violate one of his sisters but he refused, prompting them to brutally kill him.
“In Anambra State, a young boy and his two sisters were kidnapped. When the family could not pay ransom, the kidnappers committed unspeakable acts, ordering the boy to violate his own sister. He refused. In their cruelty, they killed him,” he wrote on X.
He described the incident as more than a crime, calling it “a wake-up call” for government and security agencies to intensify efforts to dismantle kidnap gangs and ensure justice for victims.
Meanwhile, Nollywood actress and former governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Anambra State, Chioma Grace Ifemeludike, has called on residents and the media to join a peaceful protest at the New Government House in Awka today, Friday, August 15.
According to her, the demonstration is to hold the state government accountable for what she described as worsening insecurity in Anambra, urging immediate measures to protect lives and property.
She stressed that public and media presence would amplify calls for justice, security, and urgent government action.
