The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has described Canada as “the best of the best country in the world” after renewing his Canadian passport.
In a video that surfaced online, the monarch disclosed that although his passport was still valid until next year, he opted to renew it early for another 10 years.
Displaying the old passport with punched holes, Oluwo said, “My passport has not expired yet; it will expire next year, but I deemed it fit to renew it now because it is valid for 10 years. It was a 24-hour service; they punched holes in the old one and issued me a new passport.”
“This is another 10-year renewal of the best country in the world. Nigeria will be the best too, but right now, believe me, Canada is the best of the best. I love Canada; I love it.”
His comments come only days after another viral video in which the monarch dismissed claims that he smokes marijuana.
Speaking at a public gathering, Oba Akanbi rained curses on those spreading the allegations, insisting the claims were false and malicious.
“They are lying against me. They are unfortunate people. Unless I am smoking marijuana, if I’m a smoker, God should remove me from this throne. You who are accusing me of being a smoker, God will punish you,” he declared.
