The Nigeria Police Force has neutralised seven suspected kidnappers and apprehended five armed robbery suspects in coordinated operations across Delta and Kaduna States, recovering stolen vehicles and firearms in the process.

According to a statement issued by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the success of the operations was attributed to intelligence-led policing and strong collaboration with local vigilante groups.

“In Delta State, operatives, working with local vigilantes and anti-cult volunteers, acted on credible intelligence along the Abraka Railway axis on June 4, 2025.

The engagement led to the neutralisation of four kidnappers and recovery of an AK-47 rifle with thirteen rounds of live ammunition,” the statement said.

In a separate incident along the Ughelli–Patani Road near Ewhereni Junction, three more kidnappers were neutralised after a routine stop escalated into a gunfight.

Police recovered an AK-47 rifle loaded with eighteen rounds of ammunition. Investigations revealed the suspects were part of an active kidnapping syndicate in the state.

Meanwhile, in Kaduna State, police operatives arrested five suspects linked to an armed robbery syndicate terrorising local communities.

The operation began with the recovery of a Toyota Hilux stolen from the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja on May 28, 2025.

“The suspect, Mohammed Kabir, was apprehended following a high-speed pursuit near Zaria town. Subsequent investigations led to the recovery of a Toyota Camry abandoned along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway,” the statement noted.

Other stolen vehicles, including a Honda CR-V and an additional Toyota Camry, were also recovered from suspects Emmanuel Oliseh, Ibrahim Bala, Abdulsalam Abdullahi, and Abdulraman Muktar.

Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, commended the officers and partners involved, describing the operations as a testament to the effectiveness of coordinated policing and community support.

He urged citizens to provide timely intelligence to strengthen public safety nationwide.
