Senator Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi, representing Osun Central Senatorial District, has congratulated the newly elected 30 local government chairmen and 332 ward councillors in Osun State, describing their victory in the just concluded local government election as a reflection of the people’s trust in their leadership.
The Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on Communications, Trade, and Investment emphasized that their emergence is a call to duty and a responsibility to deliver democratic dividends at the grassroots level.
“This victory is a demonstration of the confidence reposed in you by the good people of Osun State. It is a mandate to serve, to bring meaningful development, and to justify the trust placed in you,” Fadeyi stated.
He charged the newly elected officials to prioritize the growth of their respective local governments and leave behind a lasting legacy of good governance. “Your leadership must reflect the aspirations of the people. Work assiduously to transform your communities and ensure impactful governance,” he added.
Commends OSSIEC for Free and Fair Elections
Senator Fadeyi lauded the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC), led by Barr. Hashim Abioye, for conducting an unbiased, transparent, and credible election. He noted that the commission’s professionalism and neutrality in organizing the polls had further strengthened the democratic process in the state.
“The credibility of this election is a beacon of electoral excellence. OSSIEC has proven that democracy in Osun State is thriving under a free and fair electoral process,” he said.
Hails Governor Adeleke’s Commitment to Democracy
Fadeyi also extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, for the successful conduct of the local government election, commending his dedication to deepening democracy and ensuring that the will of the people prevails.
“This election is another milestone in Governor Adeleke’s unwavering commitment to good governance, transparency, and people-centered leadership,” he remarked.
The senator however praised the citizens of Osun State for their massive turnout and active participation in the election, highlighting their role in sustaining democracy.
“The people of Osun have once again demonstrated their love for democracy by exercising their civic responsibility. Their participation affirms their pursuit of good governance and commitment to the democratic process,” he noted.
As the newly elected chairmen and councillors assume office, Senator Fadeyi urged them to uphold transparency, accountability, and people-oriented policies.
“Write your names in the sands of time by fostering unity, prioritizing development, and making a difference in the lives of your constituents,” he advised.
He concluded with a note of optimism, wishing the elected officials a successful tenure that would bring progress and prosperity to Osun State.
