Popular gospel singer and Chairman of Fresh FM, Dr. Yinka Ayefele, has received a heartwarming surprise on Tuesday when Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, gifted him a brand-new Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) following the recent fire incident that gutted parts of his Music House in Ibadan.
According to reports, the governor, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Otunba Ademola Ojo, presented the vehicle to Ayefele at his Fresh FM complex, Challenge, Ibadan. He was joined by the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun.
Speaking during the presentation, the governor described Ayefele as “a symbol of perseverance and inspiration to millions of Nigerians.” He noted that despite the painful experience, Ayefele had remained resilient, investing his talent and resources to inspire others.
“What happened to Fresh FM is a painful experience, but I want to assure you that this government stands with you. This little token is our way of saying you are not alone,” the commissioner said on behalf of the governor.
An emotional Ayefele, who has been counting his losses since the disaster, expressed gratitude for the unexpected support.
“I am short of words. I came here heavy-hearted because of the losses we suffered in the fire outbreak, but today Governor Makinde has turned my pain into joy. This gift means more than just a car, it is a reminder that there is hope at the end of every tragedy,” he said.
