Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a man, his wife, son, and elder brother, alongside two others, during a late-night attack in the Chikakore area of Kubwa, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The incident occurred around midnight on Monday and involved approximately 30 armed men wielding AK-47 rifles.
Sources disclosed that the attackers stormed the residence of one Mr. Adefija Michael Akinropo, abducting him, his wife, son, and elder brother.
The gunmen also targeted a nearby building housing a poultry farm, where another man was kidnapped, and his wife sustained injuries during the assault.
Speaking on the development, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, confirmed that investigations into the incident were underway. “Let me check with the DPO, and I will get back to you,” she said when contacted for comments.
The attack has sparked fears among residents of the area, who have called for increased security presence and swift action to rescue the victims.
This incident comes amidst growing concerns over the rising wave of insecurity and kidnapping incidents in parts of the Federal Capital Territory.
Authorities are urged to intensify efforts to ensure the safety of lives and property within the region.
