Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians across the state and Nigeria at large, urging them to hold firmly to faith, unity, and resilience during this symbolic season of renewal.

In a statement issued from Abeokuta on Sunday, the governor reflected on the essence of Easter and its spiritual significance.

He commended Christians for the sacrifices made during the 40-day Lenten period, noting their commitment to fasting, prayers, acts of charity, and reflection amid the country’s economic challenges.

The message was released by Hon. Kayode Akinmade, Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy.

“Easter is more than just a holiday—it is a sacred period that calls for deep reflection on love, sacrifice, and new beginnings. It reminds us of Christ’s triumph over adversity and the promise of renewal,” Abiodun stated.

The governor also emphasized the importance of collective prayer and national unity, especially during trying times. “I urge all Christians and Nigerians to continue to pray for our government, fellow citizens, and the entire nation. Let us not allow forces of division and negativity to take the lead,” he appealed.

In alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Abiodun reassured citizens of his administration’s dedication to sustaining developmental progress across Ogun State.

“As we celebrate Easter, a time-honored tradition that symbolizes renewal and hope, let us reflect on the profound lessons this holiday imparts. It invites us to embrace change, remain resilient, and extend kindness to one another, embodying the essence of community spirit,” he said.

He added: “On our part, we will continue on our developmental trajectory that has firmly positioned our state for growth. We are committed to providing the best for our people and raising their standard of living.”

Governor Abiodun congratulated all Christians and residents of Ogun State, encouraging them to embody the teachings of Easter in their daily lives, and to look to the future with optimism anchored in faith and collective effort.
