As Christians celebrate the Easter season, the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, has announced the deployment of its tactical squads across the state to ensure adequate security before, during, and after the festive period.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the State Commander of the Corps, Commander (Dr) Soji Ganzallo, through the office of the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf.

According to the statement, the tactical teams will provide surveillance and maintain peace at places of worship throughout the state’s three geopolitical zones in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, which remains the lead agency in internal security.

“The agency’s tactical squads are to man places of worship across the state in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force,” the statement noted. “Routine patrols will also be maintained in communities to ensure a peaceful Easter celebration.”

Commander Ganzallo also issued a strong advisory to travelers and road users, urging them to avoid night journeys and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy before setting out, warning that criminals often target stranded commuters and faulty vehicles during festive seasons.

“Travelers should avoid night journeys and check their vehicles properly. Criminals are on the lookout for damaged vehicles and stranded passengers,” he said.

Extending his goodwill to Christian faithful across the state and beyond, Commander Ganzallo reminded them of the core message of Easter.

“Jesus preached peace, lived it, and left it as a legacy. That same template is what we should all sustain,” he said. “Let us celebrate in love and keep the spirit of giving alive during this season.”

The Corps also shared emergency contact numbers for the public to call in case of any distress or suspicious activity: 08034681687, 09069392064, and 08035479930.
