Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 47 suspected internet fraudsters in Edo State.
The suspects were apprehended on Friday, August 15, 2025, following credible intelligence linking them to various fraudulent online activities.
During the operation, the EFCC recovered a pump action rifle with live cartridges from one of the suspects. Other items seized include six vehicles, mobile phones and laptop computers.
The anti-graft agency said the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
