Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim community on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Adha, urging citizens to embrace the festival’s core values of sacrifice, compassion, and unity.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, Governor Abiodun described Eid-el-Adha as a sacred time for reflection and generosity, inspired by the unwavering faith and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

“On this special occasion, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all Muslims as we observe Eid-el-Adha. This celebration is not only a time for joy and festivity but also a moment for reflection on the values of sacrifice, love, and generosity.”

“As we gather with family and friends, let us remember those in need and extend our hands to help them. The true essence of Eid lies in our ability to share our blessings with others,” the governor said.

Governor Abiodun also stressed the importance of unity and religious harmony within Ogun State, noting that Eid-el-Adha provides a vital reminder for all citizens to foster peace and mutual respect.

“In these challenging times, let us use this occasion to strengthen our bonds of friendship and understanding across all faiths,” he urged.

Recognizing the efforts of security agencies, the governor commended their dedication to maintaining peace and ensuring the safety of residents during the festive period.

He called on citizens to cooperate with security personnel and adhere to safety protocols amid ongoing health concerns.

“I commend all those who work tirelessly to maintain peace and order in our state. Your dedication does not go unnoticed, and we are deeply appreciative of your service.”

“Let us celebrate responsibly, ensuring that we protect ourselves and our loved ones while enjoying the joy of Eid,” he added.
