The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented Certificates of Return to candidates who emerged victorious in the bye-elections conducted across the country on August 16, 2025.
The exercise, held in line with Section 71(1) of the Electoral Act which mandates the issuance of sealed Certificates of Return within 14 days, was carried out by the National Commissioners overseeing the respective geopolitical zones.
A total of seven winners received their certificates. They include two Senators-elect from Anambra South and Edo Central Senatorial Districts, as well as five members-elect of the House of Representatives from constituencies in Edo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Ogun and Oyo States.
