The Southern Governors Forum has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Hajiya Safara’u Umaru Barebari, mother of Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Dikko Umaru Radda, describing her as a woman of faith, wisdom, and kindness.
In a statement issued by the Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the governors acknowledged the profound grief that comes with losing a mother, especially one who dedicated her life to nurturing her children and serving her community.
“The death of one’s mother, regardless of age, is always painful. Her love, kindness, devotion, and wise counsel can never be replaced. Governor Dikko Umaru Radda no doubt looked forward to sharing more moments of a mother’s love and presence after Ramadan, but Almighty Allah, in His infinite wisdom, has called her home at this time,” the statement read.
The forum noted that Hajiya Safara’u Umaru Barebari’s transition during the holy month of Ramadan was symbolic, as she was actively engaged in prayer, supplications, and acts of charity in her final days. They expressed consolation in the fulfilling life she lived, particularly in her dedication to the people of Katsina State.
“Her passing is heartbreaking, but we take solace in the remarkable life she lived and the impact she had on her family and community. She was a pillar of support, not just to her children but to many others who benefited from her kindness and wisdom,” the forum stated.
Extending their sympathies, the Southern Governors Forum commiserated with Governor Radda, his siblings, the Village Head of Radda, Alhaji Kabir Umar Radda, and Hajiya Hauwa Umar Radda, as well as the entire family, government, and people of Katsina State.
“We pray that Almighty Allah grants her Aljanat Firdaus and gives the family the strength to bear this irreparable loss,” the statement concluded.
