Abeokuta will host a gathering of Nigeria’s most accomplished individuals as the Nigerian Books of Record (Who’s Who in Nigeria) inducts a new cohort of distinguished personalities on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
The event, scheduled for 2:00 PM at Adire Hall, Aafin Ake, will celebrate figures who have excelled in cultural leadership, governance, business, and law. Among the inductees are His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Adedotun Gbadebo CFR, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland; Otunba Dr. Adebola Ismail Akindele; Alhaji Adewale Sonaike; and Dr. Muiz Adeyemi Banire SAN.
Chief Dr. Abiodun Lasile, Founder of The SixthSense Initiative, described the induction as a celebration of perseverance, excellence, and a commitment to societal growth. “This ceremony is a reminder of what dedication can achieve. The inductees have made meaningful contributions that will inspire current and future generations,” Lasile noted.
The SixthSense Initiative, co-organiser of the event, aims to foster a culture of reading and knowledge among children, alongside promoting leadership development. “Encouraging our children to embrace reading is essential for building tomorrow’s leaders,” Lasile added.
Oba Gbadebo’s inclusion in the Nigerian Books of Record underscores his role in uniting the people of Egbaland and Nigeria through cultural leadership. Other honorees, such as Otunba Akindele and Dr. Banire, are being recognised for their notable contributions to business and legal reform.
Prof. David David, Director General of the Nigerian Books of Record, highlighted the significance of the event. “This induction celebrates individuals whose achievements have elevated Nigeria’s standing locally and globally,” he said.
The ceremony will also feature the presentation of the Nigerian Books of Record Fellowship Award, further cementing the legacy of the inductees.
Dignitaries, cultural enthusiasts, and stakeholders are expected to attend the prestigious event, which marks another milestone in recognising excellence in Nigeria.
