The Ogun State Government has extended by two weeks the deadline for property owners and occupiers affected by the ongoing physical development audit in Sagamu and Ijebu-Ode to submit their title documents.
According to the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, TPL Olatunji Odunlami, the extension is to give owners and developers more time to present planning permits or regularise unapproved developments through the ministry and its agencies.
Odunlami said the decision followed representations from affected property owners and was in line with the government’s commitment to the rule of law and transparency.
He stressed that the audit exercise, which is also carried out daily in other parts of the state, is not targeted at any individual or organisation but aimed at ensuring sustainable urban development.
The commissioner commended citizens who comply with planning regulations and urged those violating them to operate within the law.
