The Olorunda Community in Abeokuta North, Ogun State, is set to witness a historic event as preparations have been concluded for the coronation and official presentation of the staff of office to Oba Joshua Olusegun Phillips-Ogunsola, the Orunda of Olorunda.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., at the Palace of the Orunda of Olorunda. The event is expected to attract traditional rulers, government officials, community leaders, and well-wishers from across the country.
Speaking on the significance of the coronation, the Secretary of the Olorunda Community Descendants Union (OCDU), Engr. Oluwarotimi G. Olaegbe, described the occasion as a new chapter for the community.
“This marks a new dawn for the Olorunda community as we usher in a leadership that is committed to fostering unity, progress, and sustainable development”.
“The reign of Oba Joshua Olusegun Phillips-Ogunsola is expected to strengthen the renewed hope agenda for the benefit and advancement of the people of Olorunda and its over 100 surrounding villages,” he stated.
The Olorunda Community Descendants Union has extended an open invitation to all members of the community, stakeholders, and the general public to be part of the historic event.
“We encourage everyone to join us in celebrating this milestone occasion, as the presence of community members and well-wishers will add to the grandeur of the event,” Olaegbe added.
