The Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Alayeluwa Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola, in partnership with the Federal Government, has launched the Olowu Hope Initiative – Women Empowerment Fund, a programme aimed at promoting women’s economic independence and community development.
At a colourful ceremony in Owu Kingdom, the traditional ruler hosted the Honorable Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, who joined him in unveiling the initiative that provides women with no-interest capital and access to skills acquisition opportunities.
The fund is designed to equip women with education, digital literacy, vocational training, and income growth support, positioning them for sustainable empowerment and active participation in society.
In his address, Kabiesi described women as pillars of resilient communities, stressing that when women are empowered, families and society at large become stronger.
On her part, the Minister of Women Affairs commended the Olowu for what she described as “a visionary step that aligns with the Federal Government’s agenda of enhancing women’s roles in economic and social development.”
She noted that the initiative would expand access to entrepreneurship opportunities and digital innovation for women across the country.
