The Ogun State High Court sitting in Sagamu has ordered former Governor and serving Senator, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, to present his property documents to the state government within 14 days.

At the resumed hearing of Suit No: HCS/371/2025, Otunba Justus Gbenga Daniel and Anor vs. the Governor of Ogun State and Others, Justice O. S. Oloyede directed Daniel to comply with the government’s request for documents, just as other residents in the same area had done.

Representing the government, Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, O.T. Olaotan, appeared alongside R.B. Kadiri, A.E. Odukoya, and W.A. Onawole.

He informed the court that an interlocutory injunction and counter-affidavits had been filed in response to Daniel’s motion and duly served on the claimants’ counsel.

The claimants, represented by A.O. Kotoye (SAN), with O.T. Are and A.O. Adeniyi, applied for the court to extend an interim order earlier granted, which would otherwise lapse after seven days.

In response, the government’s counsel argued that the court should instead compel the claimants to take advantage of the two-week extension announced by the state and furnish the Ministry of Physical Planning with the necessary documents.

Justice Oloyede thereafter ordered both parties to maintain the status quo and explore amicable settlement, but also directed Senator Daniel and the other claimants to submit the required papers within the 14-day period set by the government.

Both counsels later agreed to adjourn the case to October 13, 2025, for the hearing of pending applications.
