President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to leave Abuja on Wednesday for Paris, France, ahead of the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
During his stay in France, Tinubu will engage in discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron before proceeding to Addis Ababa early next week for the summit, which will be held from February 12 to 16, 2025.
The summit will also include the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the AU.
Confirming the trip, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said Tinubu’s visit to France is private but will also provide an opportunity for bilateral engagements.
“The president will meet with his French counterpart, President Emmanuel Macron, before departing for Ethiopia,” Onanuga stated.
