The list of nominees for the maiden edition of the BAM Entrepreneurship Award has been unveiled, with the Founder and Publisher of Tropic Reporters News, Prince Adejola Adeyemi Crown, joining His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul-Wasiu Akanni Ogungbayi, the Onitetiku of Owode, Ota, and several others among the pioneers set to be honoured.
The prestigious event, organised by Barbra Africa Media, will hold on Friday, October 5, 2018, at the Ota Recreation Centre, Toll Gate Road, Ota, Ogun State. According to the organisers, the BAM Entrepreneurship Award was conceived to celebrate and appreciate outstanding young entrepreneurs who have contributed meaningfully to community development through their respective fields.
Categories of awards for the night include Teen Entrepreneur of the Year, Emerging New Entrepreneur of the Year, Student Entrepreneur of the Year, Fashion Entrepreneur of the Year, AgriBusiness Entrepreneur of the Year, Media Entrepreneur of the Year, Online Entrepreneur of the Year, Entertainment Entrepreneur of the Year, as well as Financial and Professional Services Entrepreneur of the Year.
Prince Adejola Adeyemi Crown, the Publisher of Tropic Reporters, was shortlisted in recognition of his efforts at ensuring reliable and authentic first-hand information reaches the general populace without personal undertones.
He has placed emphasis on promoting community-based news updates and clarifications on issues affecting the growth and development of communities in Nigeria, Africa, and beyond.
Similarly, the Onitetiku of Owode, HRM Oba Abdul-Wasiu Akanni Ogungbayi, was nominated for his leadership style and philanthropic nature, which has positively impacted the people of Owode, Ota, and neighbouring communities.
Other nominees include the Publisher of Voice of Awori, Comrade Oyetoro Oluwaseyi, Prince Kola Omisore, Temitope Famuyiwa, Bankole Timileyin, Ambassador Temitope Lawal, and Ayangbami Modupe.
Speaking on the forthcoming event, the Managing Director of Barbra Africa Media, Mr. Joseph Oluwaseun Barbra, disclosed that the Olota of Ota, HRM Oba (Prof.) Adeyemi Abdulkabir Obalanlege, alongside the Onilogbo of Ilogbo, HRM Oba (Dr.) Samuel Olufemi Ojugbele, are among the dignitaries expected to grace the award ceremony.
He added that Tropic Reporters News, Voice of Awori, Faaji FM, The Voice Magazine, Iman Awards, Nigbati, and Dama Media have been confirmed as official media partners for the event.
