Hundreds of supporters of the All Progressives Congress on Friday took to the streets of Ifo as the YAYI ADJ Nation Support Group staged a mega rally ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The rally, held in Ifo Constituency I, attracted party supporters and members of the support group who marched through major streets, chanting solidarity songs and displaying campaign materials in support of the APC and its candidates.
The mobilisation was organised in support of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, who is the APC governorship candidate in Ogun State, and the party’s candidate for the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, also known as ADJ.
Speaking at the rally, Adeleye expressed appreciation to the supporters for their turnout and called for continued unity and mobilisation among APC members across the various levels of government.
She said, “I want to appreciate everyone for this massive turnout. We must remain united and continue to mobilise support for our party and our candidates.”
Adeleye urged supporters to work for the success of the party’s candidates from the presidential level through the National Assembly to the Ogun State House of Assembly.
Former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Taiwo Oluomo, also addressed the gathering, reaffirming his commitment to the APC.
Oluomo described the YAYI ADJ Nation movement as a grassroots mobilisation platform in Ifo and urged members to sustain their activities with discipline, loyalty and dedication.
The Director-General of the YAYI ADJ Nation Support Group, Ogbeni Kolawole Isola, said the rally was organised to strengthen grassroots engagement and mobilise residents ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, the turnout demonstrated the group’s determination to remain active in the political process and communicate its message to residents across Ifo.
The event ended with a procession through parts of Ifo metropolis, as supporters displayed campaign materials and chanted solidarity songs in support of the APC and its candidates.
