A Business Lawyer and politician, Olagoke Kuye, has formally declared his intention to contest the Ogun Central Senatorial seat on the platform of the Youth Party ahead of the 2027 general elections, pledging people oriented representation, youth inclusion, and quality leadership for the district.

Kuye made the declaration on Tuesday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, during a gathering attended by state executives, local government executives, and ward executives of the party across Ogun State.

Speaking during the declaration, Kuye said his decision to join the race was driven by his passion for the development of Ogun Central and the need to provide effective representation that would prioritise the welfare of the people.

He stated that the district deserves a leader who understands the challenges confronting ordinary citizens and possesses the capacity, integrity, and vision to address them through quality legislation and grassroots engagement.

Kuye explained that his mission is centred on empowerment, youth development, economic growth, improved education, and better opportunities for women and vulnerable groups.

According to him, politics should be about service, accountability, and creating lasting impact in the lives of the people.

He said, “I am stepping into this race because our people deserve purposeful and responsive representation. Ogun Central is blessed with intelligent, hardworking, and resourceful people, but many are still struggling with unemployment, poor infrastructure, and lack of opportunities.

“My passion has always been about building people and creating opportunities for growth. I believe the Senate should not only be a place for lawmaking but also a platform to attract development and give the people a stronger voice in governance.”

The lawyer added that his values of transparency, justice, fairness, and inclusiveness would shape his style of leadership if elected into office.

“I am committed to politics that puts the people first. We must begin to restore trust in leadership by remaining accountable to the people at all times. My focus will be on policies and programmes that directly improve the lives of our people, especially the youths,” he added.

Kuye also appreciated members and leaders of the party for their support and confidence in his aspiration, assuring them that the movement would continue to grow across all wards and local governments in Ogun Central.

Party leaders at the event described Kuye as a committed and grassroots oriented politician with the experience and capacity to offer effective representation at the National Assembly.

They expressed confidence that his emergence would strengthen the party’s chances in the 2027 elections and provide a credible alternative for the people of Ogun Central.
