Senator Solomon Adeola, representing Ogun West, has distanced himself from the wave of campaign billboards and posters springing up across parts of Ogun State ahead of the 2027 governorship race.

The lawmaker, popularly known as Yayi, said he had yet to declare his intention to contest, urging his supporters to exercise restraint and respect due process.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his media adviser, Kayode Odunaro, Adeola acknowledged the growing display of support but warned against premature campaign activities.

“I have been informed of the sighting of billboards and posters erected by supporters and groups in parts of the state soliciting support for my aspiration for Ogun 2027,” he said.

“As a loyal party man fully cognizant of the process and relevant tradition of the progressives family for the last 35 years, I am yet to declare my intention as I await the timetable of the party and other consultative process.”

The senator stressed that political activities must align with laid-down rules and timelines, urging his supporters to reflect his approach to grassroots politics anchored on due process.

“Supporters should act in tandem with my tested brand of grassroots politics grounded in due process and rules,” he added.

Adeola, however, appreciated the commitment of his supporters, noting that their sacrifices would not be overlooked.

“I appreciate the time and money expended by my supporters in my cause and pledge that their valuable support will not be taken for granted,” he stated.

He further urged them to remain steadfast while adhering strictly to existing regulations guiding political campaigns, especially regarding the timing of public promotions.
