The Ogun State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) on Thursday held its 41st Annual General Meeting at the State Secretariat, MKO Abiola Trade Fair Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, with stakeholders commending the steady progress and achievements of the Chamber under its current leadership.

In his address, OGUNCCIMA President, Lion Niyi Oshiyemi, highlighted key milestones recorded by the Chamber in the past year, including the unveiling of the One-Stop Business Development Service Unit designed to support entrepreneurs and promote market access for businesses.

Oshiyemi noted that participation in the Chamber’s monthly virtual business sessions has been on the rise, providing members with relevant knowledge and showcasing available business development services.

He also revealed that OGUNCCIMA successfully hosted the 14th Gateway International Trade Fair in February 2025, attracting over 40 exhibitors across manufacturing, banking, agriculture, and retail sectors. The fair, according to him, created opportunities for business linkages, partnerships, and investments within and outside Ogun State.

Additionally, the Annual Fish and Aquaculture Fair was held in November 2024, bringing together stakeholders across the aquaculture value chain and promoting innovations in fish farming, processing, and feed production.

The Chamber also hosted a business delegation from Turkiye’s Independent Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association (MUSIAD) in May 2025. The engagement, done in collaboration with the Ogun State Government, focused on strengthening trade relations, attracting foreign investments, and promoting Ogun State’s industrial potential.

Oshiyemi disclosed that the Chamber completed structural renovations at the Secretariat and restored stable electricity to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery to members.

While thanking members for their unwavering support, he assured that OGUNCCIMA remains committed to creating business opportunities, fostering partnerships, and promoting sustainable economic development in Ogun State.

In his goodwill message, Past President of OGUNCCIMA and member of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Wasiu Olaleye, applauded the leadership for sustaining the Chamber’s activities and holding regular general meetings.

“Holding this AGM today is a reflection of consistency, accountability, and dedication to service,” Olaleye stated.

He urged the executives to stay focused on the ideals and objectives of the Chamber, particularly in providing more impactful programmes for members.

“We must deepen our impact through programmes that empower our members to grow, attract more businesses to OGUNCCIMA, and foster strategic partnerships,” Olaleye said.

The Past President further stressed the need for the Chamber to position itself as a leading voice in economic advocacy and a reliable platform for private sector development.

“OGUNCCIMA has always played a vital role in the economic advancement of Ogun State. We must continue on that path by strengthening our platforms, building relationships with investors, and expanding the Chamber’s reach,” he added.

The AGM was attended by notable personalities and key members of the business community, including Prince Bayo Ikujenyo (Past President and member of the Board of Directors), Elder Olatunji Adeniyi (1st Deputy President), Otunba Wasiu Taiwo (2nd Deputy President), Mr. Timothy Shorunke (ABEOCCIMA President and OGUNCCIMA 1st Vice President) and Engr. David Bello (2nd Vice President).

Others include Surv. Ayodele Olatunde (3rd Vice President), Mrs. Dupe Fadare (Deputy Treasurer, who presented the Treasurer’s report on behalf of Mr. Ibrahim Bada), Mr. Akinola Lawson (Past President, ABEOCCIMA), Mrs. Cynthia Saka (Former President, OTAGCCIMA), Mrs. Jumoke Akinlolu-Okoya (Financial Secretary), Ifeoluwa Adesanya (Ogun NYE Coordinator), Alhaji R.O. Maku (Executive Secretary, ABEOCCIMA), Alhaji W.T. Raji, Mr. Wakeel Olaniyan, among others.

A successful AGM. As a youth, being in attendance provided me with insight into board meeting standards.
