The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has announced plans to hold a high level Extended Stakeholders Strategic Meeting in Abeokuta as part of efforts to strengthen internal cohesion and fine tune the party’s political direction in the state.
The meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, February 11, at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, with proceedings expected to begin by 2:00 p.m.
According to the party, the strategic gathering will bring together a wide range of influential figures within the APC structure in Ogun State.
Those expected at the meeting include former Governors and Deputy Governors, former Speakers of the Ogun State House of Assembly, serving and former members of the Federal Executive Council from the state, as well as current and former members of the National Assembly and the State House of Assembly.
Members of the Ogun State Executive Council and other critical stakeholders of the party are also expected to attend the meeting, which is being described as one of the most comprehensive party engagements in recent times.
A statement issued by the party explained that the meeting will be presided over by the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, MFR.
The party noted that the governor’s leadership at the gathering underscores the importance attached to the meeting and the need for collective input from party leaders across all levels.
The APC leadership said the meeting is aimed at reviewing the party’s internal affairs, strengthening unity among members, and setting clear political strategies ahead of future engagements.
The State Chairman of the APC, Chief Yemi Sanusi, urged all invited stakeholders to ensure their presence, stressing that attendance is strictly by invitation.
He also advised invitees to attend the meeting in party attire, in line with established party protocol.
Party insiders described the meeting as a crucial step towards consolidating the APC’s position in Ogun State, particularly at a time when alignment, consultation, and strategic planning have become increasingly important within the political space.
