As the Holy Month of Ramadan comes to a close, Ogun State’s Deputy Governor, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has urged Muslims in the state and across the country to reflect on and uphold the valuable lessons imparted during the sacred month.

Speaking at the Eid prayers held at the Otta Community Eid Praying Ground, she emphasized that Ramadan offers an opportunity for genuine repentance, urging Muslims to sincerely regret past misdeeds and strive to improve themselves as better members of society.

The Deputy Governor highlighted the key virtues that Ramadan instills, including self-discipline, patience, charity, and unwavering faith in Allah.

“The goodness of Ramadan, which is manifested through acts of prayer, fasting, kindness, and generosity, should not end with the month,” she stressed. “These should become a part of our daily lives and guide our interactions with others.”

She continued by praying for Allah’s acceptance of the fast and prayers performed during Ramadan, asking for blessings, peace, prosperity, and harmony to grace the lives of Muslims, both in Ogun State and across Nigeria.

Echoing similar sentiments, the Olota of Ota, HRM Oba (Prof.) Abdulkabir Obalanlege, urged Muslims to sustain the good deeds, closeness to Allah, and philanthropic spirit nurtured during Ramadan.

“It is important that we remain steadfast in our devotion and avoid actions that could tarnish the image of Islam,” the royal father stated.

The Chief Imam of Aworiland, Sheik (Imam) Muhammad Sabiq Ibrahim (Aina Aladin), also delivered a heartfelt message, thanking Allah for the strength granted to Muslims during the 30 days of fasting.

He called on the faithful to continue abiding by the spiritual guidance provided throughout Ramadan and to repent from any wrongdoings.

“May we continue to enjoy Allah’s mercy and blessings as we move forward,” he prayed.
