The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old man, Lukman Sanni, suspected of conveying illegal firearms during a stop-and-search operation at Iyana Isashi, Lagos State.

The arrest was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, who said the operation formed part of efforts to curb illegal possession and trafficking of firearms, as well as other criminal activities across the state.

According to the statement, a search conducted on the suspect led to the recovery of a locally made pistol, two live cartridges and a suspected charm.
