Access Bank Plc has confirmed it is cooperating fully with authorities over an ongoing investigation involving a former Contact Centre agent, Stephen Ifeanyichukwu Ejezie, who has been accused of secretly filming female colleagues in restrooms at the bank’s Oniru, Lagos State office.

In a statement released by the bank’s management, Access Bank noted, “Our attention has been drawn to reports circulating on social media regarding an alleged offence involving a former Contact Centre Agent.”

According to a report by the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ), Ejezie, who worked as a Quality Assurance Specialist, was apprehended in the female restroom around 1:30am last Wednesday.

Staff members, operating on a shift basis, often sleep, shower, and change clothes within the premises. It was during one of these shifts that Ejezie allegedly attempted to plant a hidden recording device.

A female employee raised an alarm after reportedly noticing a phone pointed at her from an adjacent cubicle while she was bathing.

Following his arrest, a raid on Ejezie’s residence reportedly uncovered over 400 compromising video clips of staff members.

Sources disclosed that Ejezie had allegedly stored numerous videos of male and female colleagues in various states of undress and reportedly sold them through platforms like OnlyFans and Telegram to foreign buyers.

Despite the gravity of the allegations, Ejezie’s subsequent release has raised concerns among affected staff members, who fear justice may not be served.

“We are traumatised, and there is no support being provided. People have the right to know if they were recorded so they are not haunted by this in the future,” a staff member lamented.

Access Bank reaffirmed its commitment to accountability, stating, “The matter has been handed over to the appropriate authorities, who are conducting an investigation. We are fully cooperating with them in this process.”

The bank emphasized its stance against misconduct, adding, “At Access Bank, we uphold a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and any form of privacy violation. We are also actively engaging with the affected employees to provide all necessary support. The safety, dignity, and well-being of our employees and customers remain our highest priority.”

The management urged the public to rely only on official communications for accurate updates, saying, “We appreciate the concern and support of the public and our stakeholders. For accurate information, we encourage everyone to rely only on updates communicated through our official channels.”

Meanwhile, the bank has prohibited employees from staying overnight at the office, following a Friday morning meeting where management addressed the issue.
