In a strategic effort to boost international trade cooperation, the Ogun State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) on Thursday led its council members to receive a delegation from the Nigerian chapter of the Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (MÜSİAD) at the office of the State Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela, at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The OGUNCCIMA team was led by its President, Lion Niyi Oshiyemi, and included notable members such as Alhaji Wasiu Olaleye (Past President and current President of ODUACCIMA), Alhaji Ibrahim Bada, Mrs. Cynthia Saka, and Wakeel Olaniyan (Secretary General of OGUNCCIMA).

OGUNCCIMA Will Complement Abiodun’s Efforts to Attract Investors in Ogun — Oshiyemi

In his address, Lion Oshiyemi emphasized the importance of fostering global economic partnerships, noting that the chamber remains committed to facilitating sustainable business growth in Ogun.

“OGUNCCIMA is positioned to connect our local industries with international opportunities. We believe MUSIAD’s interest in Ogun is a welcome development that can lead to long-term benefits,” he stated.

Reinforcing the commitment of the Ogun State Government, Commissioner Adebola Sofela assured the MUSIAD delegation of the state’s readiness to collaborate with investors.

“We are open for business. Ogun State has laid the groundwork for growth across various sectors, and we are ready to support any initiative that aligns with our development goals,” the Commissioner affirmed.

In his remarks, Mr. Tevfik Demirel, President of MUSIAD Nigeria, explained the rationale behind the visit, stating that the association seeks to create economic bridges between Nigeria and Türkiye.

“We represent over 13,000 members globally, managing more than 60,000 businesses and employing nearly 1.8 million people. Ogun State stands out as a viable region for investment and industrial cooperation,” he said.

He added, “We are here to better understand the state’s development plans, focus industries, and infrastructure strategy. We hope to return between May 5th and 8th, 2025, and would be delighted to have this dialogue extended to the Governor’s office.”

Founded in Istanbul in 1990, MUSIAD is a globally respected businessmen’s association with 172 contact points across 81 countries. It is a non-governmental organization committed to fostering justice, prosperity, and inclusive economic development.

Both OGUNCCIMA and the state government reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening trade relations and fostering partnerships that will drive industrial and economic advancement in Ogun State.
