The Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) over the official upgrade of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro-Yewa, to the Federal University of Technology, following Tinubu’s assent to the enabling bill.

Describing the development as a “landmark achievement” for Yewaland, Ogun West, and the entire Gateway State, the monarch praised the President’s educational reforms, which he said are paving the way for youth empowerment and regional development.

According to a press release signed by ‘Deola Adeyemi, Special Assistant to the Paramount Ruler on Media and Strategic Communications, the monarch stated: “The elevation of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, to a University of Technology is more than a change in nomenclature; it marks the opening of new doors for our youths and communities.”

Kabiyesi expressed deep gratitude to Senator Adeola, describing him as a key driver of the legislative efforts that led to the historic transformation. “I commend our very own Aremo, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), whose relentless efforts were instrumental in making this historic achievement a reality,” the royal father said.

He further extended appreciation to members of the National Assembly for their unified role in facilitating the bill, saying their collective commitment to education and regional advancement was crucial.

Oba Olugbenle also congratulated the Rector of the institution, Dr. Mukail Akinde, alongside the management, staff, and the people of Yewaland, both at home and in the diaspora. He urged them to see the upgrade as a shared accomplishment and a fresh call to duty.

“This is a collective victory. Let us all work hand-in-hand with the federal government to grow the new Federal University of Technology, Ilaro-Yewa, into a world-class citadel of learning,” he added.
