Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has extended heartfelt congratulations to his predecessor and former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, on his 68th birthday, praising his unwavering service and enduring legacy in the state and the country at large.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke commended Aregbesola’s courage, sense of purpose, and visionary leadership which, he said, have left a lasting impact on Osun State’s development.
“I celebrate my dear Egbon, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, as he marks his 68th birthday today,” Adeleke said. “Ogbeni Aregbesola is a man endowed with an incredible sense of purpose, utilising his God-given knowledge and energy to initiatives that will impact lives and transform societies.”
Despite their political differences, Governor Adeleke expressed deep respect for the former governor, describing him as “a politician with a difference” whose service has spanned both state and national levels with measurable results.
“Regardless of our political differences, I hold Ogbeni Aregbesola in the highest esteem because of his contributions to the progress made in Osun State so far,” the Governor remarked. “I join family, friends and well-wishers to honour his many impacts, particularly in the area of creating opportunities for young people.”
Adeleke also commended the former Interior Minister for his performance in various public roles, noting his consistency in offering impactful service to the people.
He concluded the message with prayers for continued health and wisdom for the celebrant: “I pray that Almighty Allah bless Ogbeni Aregbesola with more celebrations and enjoy more years in good health and sound mind to contribute more to the growth and development of Osun State.”
