The Nigerian Red Cross Society, Ogun State Branch, has applauded the unwavering support of His Royal Highness, Oba James Obafemi Saliu (Kankanbina III), Ologere and Arole Lipakala of Ogere for his contributions to the organization’s humanitarian mission.

The commendation came during a courtesy visit to the monarch on Thursday, June 13, 2025, as the Red Cross leadership reaffirmed its commitment to expanding humanitarian impact across the state.

Atiku Accuses Obasanjo Of Backing Preferred 2027 Presidential Candidate

Leading the delegation, State Chairman Dr. Ibrahim Jide Bello emphasized the purpose of the visit, saying it was to express gratitude and foster a stronger collaboration.

“Kabiyesi has consistently shown rare compassion for humanity. We deeply appreciate his role in connecting us with international partners, particularly the Chinese Red Cross, which holds great promise for our future projects,” help said.

While speaking, Oba James Saliu assured the team of his continued commitment to their mission and gave an update on his ongoing engagements with the Chinese Red Cross.

He also made a generous personal donation to support the Branch’s ongoing humanitarian activities.

“We are making progress with our discussions, and I believe something beneficial is on the horizon.”

“The Red Cross remains a vital institution, and I will always be available to support its noble cause,” the monarch told the team.

As part of the engagement, Branch Vice Chairman, Instr. Engr. Olatoye Lookman, officially notified the monarch of the forthcoming Annual Youth Leadership Training Camp, scheduled for August 10 to 17, 2025.

He described the initiative as a platform for equipping young volunteers with the leadership and life-saving skills necessary for humanitarian service.

“We’re investing in the future of Red Cross by preparing young minds to lead and serve,” Lookman noted.

The monarch expressed support for the programme and pledged to help promote awareness within the community and to honour the monarch’s generosity and ongoing support, the delegation presented a framed portrait and souvenirs to Oba Saliu.

The visit concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Engr. Lookman, who described the royal father as “a strong pillar behind the success of the Red Cross in Ogun State.”

Other key members of the delegation included Instr. Com. Yinka Faṣhina (National Capacity Development Adviser), Mr. Taye Ajayi (Branch Secretary), Mr. Terry Tareyei (Admin Officer), Pastor Oyelami Gabriel (Abeokuta South Divisional Coordinator), and Mrs. Abolade Kehinde-Olootu (Divisional Secretary), among others.
