An armed robbery operation ended in tragedy for the suspect after he was overpowered by residents during an attack on a household in Dorayi Babba, Unguwar Jakada area of Kano State.
The suspect, identified as Musa Nuhu, reportedly broke into the residence armed with a knife and attacked the occupants in a failed attempt to rob them. Two women were injured during the attack before a male member of the family confronted the intruder.
The encounter turned violent as both men sustained injuries, but the family member succeeded in overpowering the suspect.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Kano State Police Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, explained that the suspect was taken to the hospital for treatment but later died due to the injuries he sustained during the struggle.
“The suspect was overpowered after courageous resistance by the victim and was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead,” Kiyawa stated.
