One of Nigeria’s most respected businessmen and philanthropists, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, has been buried in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
The burial took place on Tuesday evening at the revered Baqiyya Cemetery following funeral prayers held at the Holy Prophet’s Mosque shortly after the Asr prayer.
Dantata, who passed away last weekend in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, was laid to rest in the holy city amidst a large crowd of mourners, including a delegation from the Federal Government of Nigeria, family members, friends, and associates.
The Janazah prayer attracted hundreds who gathered to pay their last respects to the late business mogul, known for his significant contributions to commerce, education, healthcare, and philanthropy across Nigeria.
Alhaji Dantata, a patriarch of the prominent Dantata family, was widely celebrated for his role in advancing economic development and supporting humanitarian causes, especially in Northern Nigeria.
His death has been described as a great loss to the nation, with tributes pouring in from different parts of the country acknowledging his legacy of service, generosity, and commitment to nation-building.
