Lagos residents may face prolonged electricity disruptions as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) embarks on a 25-day maintenance operation on the Omotosho–Ikeja West 330kV transmission line.

According to a public notice issued by Ikeja Electric Plc, the scheduled maintenance will run from Monday, July 28, to Thursday, August 21, 2025, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM daily. During this period, customers within its distribution network are expected to experience intermittent power supply and load shedding.

The statement read, “Please be informed that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) will carry out scheduled maintenance on the Omotosho–Ikeja West 330kV transmission line. Customers may experience intermittent power supply and load shedding across our network due to the planned TCN outage.”

The company expressed regret over the likely inconvenience and urged customers to bear with the situation while the technical upgrade lasts.

Although Ikeja Electric did not list specific affected communities, the outage is likely to impact large sections of Lagos, including parts of Ogun State, which share supply from the Ikeja West transmission line.

Residents and businesses are now preparing for the weeks ahead, with many expressing concern over the timing and possible effect on productivity and livelihood.
