A fatal road crash involving a MAN diesel truck and a Ford bus has claimed the life of a woman along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, near Eruku Junction in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The incident, which occurred around 1:00am on Tuesday, July 30, 2025, was reportedly caused by a head-on collision between the two vehicles, following a traffic diversion allegedly mounted by CRANEBURG construction company in the area.

According to a report by the Ewekoro Divisional Command of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), the rescue team arrived at the scene at about 5:30am, where they met both vehicles—the MAN truck with registration number KTU 654 XE (ash colour) and an unregistered blue Ford bus—badly damaged from the impact.

Eyewitnesses at the scene narrated that both vehicles approached each other from opposite directions and collided head-on due to confusion caused by the diversion.

A total of ten occupants were involved in the crash, comprising seven males and three females. Unfortunately, one female victim died on the spot, while the remaining passengers escaped unhurt.

Although TRACE operatives did not meet the deceased at the scene upon arrival, the corpse had already been evacuated by the police and deposited at the General Hospital morgue in Ifo for preservation.

While the Ford bus was towed to the Motor Traffic Division (MTD) of the Itori Police Station, arrangements were ongoing to tow the MAN truck to the same station for further investigation.

TRACE officials from the Ewekoro command remained on site to manage the partially obstructed traffic and restore order along the expressway.
