Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, have arrested a 25-year-old man, Sodiq Kamoru, in connection with an attempted theft in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state.
According to a statement issued by the office of the State Commander, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, through the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, the suspect was apprehended on Monday, August 4, 2025, around 1:37 p.m. at Lokoji, a community in Obafemi-Owode.
Kamoru, who resides in Bisodun, was caught by a patrol team from the Mokoloki-Ofada Area Command led by Assistant Commander Odetayo Amidu. The officers, who were on routine patrol, acted on a distress call that reported suspicious movement on a farm.
The statement said the suspect was arrested while trying to escape with a stolen 1.5-horsepower pumping machine.
Commander Ganzallo confirmed that the suspect and the recovered item have been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Iro Division, for further investigation and prosecution.
Commending the swift response of the operatives, Ganzallo maintained that the Corps remains committed to the safety of lives and property in all parts of Ogun State. “No part of the state will be left unprotected. The safety of lives and property is non-negotiable,” he said.
