President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic fire incident at an Islamic school in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State, which claimed several lives on Tuesday night.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, parents, and guardians affected by the devastating inferno.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu sympathized with the government of Zamfara State and the management of the affected school.
He also prayed for the swift recovery of those who sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical attention.
Emphasizing the importance of child safety in learning environments, the President directed regulatory bodies in the education sector to ensure strict adherence to safety measures in both public and private schools.
“The safety and security of our children must always come first. I urge all school authorities to implement comprehensive safety measures to prevent such tragedies in the future,” the statement read.
Tinubu also prayed for the souls of the deceased, asking God Almighty to grant them eternal rest and provide comfort to their grieving families.
