In line with the Renewed Hope Agenda on infrastructure under the administration of Tinubu, Senator Solomon Adeola, representing Ogun West, has facilitated the distribution and energisation of 102 electricity transformers to 435 Community Development Areas (CDAs) across Ogun State.

The initiative, tagged “Light Up Ogun State,” was officially launched during the celebration of the senator’s 56th birthday at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion in Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area.

According to a statement signed by Chief Kayode Odunaro, Media Adviser to Senator Adeola, the transformers, tailored to the specific power needs of each locality, include 500kva/33, 500kva/11, 300kva/33, and 300kva/11 capacities.

The beneficiaries cut across 17 Local Government Areas, including Yewa North, Ado-Odo Ota, Yewa South, Abeokuta North, Ifo, Obafemi Owode, Ewekoro, Sagamu, Ijebu Ode, Odogbolu, Ipokia, Ijebu North East, Ikenne, Ijebu East, Remo North, Abeokuta South, and Ijebu North.

Senator Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, said his office had been inundated with requests for transformers following his periodic donations over the years.

“It is a thing of joy for me to bring light to various homes and businesses through the provision and energisation of transformers,” he said.

Alongside the transformer distribution, Yayi has facilitated the installation of more than 16,500 solar-powered streetlights across streets, markets, communities, and palaces within Ogun West and beyond.

He assured residents that the project is ongoing, noting, “There are still many more communities in darkness as a result of damaged or inadequate energy infrastructure. I will continue to address these challenges already compiled in my office.”
