Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Ogun West) has defended his recent facilitation of 102 transformers to 435 Community Development Areas across Ogun State, dismissing claims by the Ogun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that the initiative was a personal favor.
In a statement signed by his Media Adviser, Kayode Odunaro, the senator’s office said the PDP’s criticism “has nothing to do with its intrinsic value to millions of Ogun state indigenes but on some egoistic calculations devoid from addressing societal challenges.”
The statement emphasized that all of Senator Adeola’s projects and empowerment initiatives are part of his mandate as a legislator and aimed at effective representation, not personal aggrandizement.
The release further explained that all facilitated projects carry references to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu and align with the APC administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun in Ogun State, including photographic banners featuring the President, the Governor, and the Senator.
According to the statement, these projects are tangible proof that committed legislators can deliver meaningful development to their constituencies.
The senator’s office also criticized the opposition for attempting to misrepresent the initiative, asserting that the PDP’s previous tenure in government failed to deliver comparable societal solutions.
The Media Office thanked those who have commended Senator Adeola for his efforts, reaffirming his commitment to defending Ogun West’s inclusion in the national budget and ensuring effective implementation of projects that address the people’s needs.
Chief Odunaro concluded that the 102 transformers reflect strategic facilitation and effective representation, and called on the PDP to view it as a challenge to deliver measurable projects to their constituents rather than discrediting achievements.
