The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in collaboration with the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has repatriated 51 foreign nationals convicted and sentenced for cyber-terrorism and internet fraud.

According to the EFCC, the repatriated convicts include 50 Chinese nationals and one Tunisian. Their deportation brings the total number of foreign nationals expelled so far to 102 in the ongoing exercise which commenced on Friday, August 15, 2025.

The convicts were among the 192 foreign nationals arrested during a sting operation in Lagos, following actionable intelligence on the activities of what authorities described as one of the largest foreign-led cybercrime syndicates operating in Nigeria.
