The Accord Party candidate for the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in Osun State, Pelumi Olajengbesi, has unveiled a 335-man campaign council ahead of the January 2027 House of Representatives election.

The candidate, who previously served as spokesperson for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s 2026 governorship campaign, announced the constitution of the campaign council in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday.

Adeleke was named among the patrons of the campaign council alongside Kazeem Akinleye and Dele Faseru.

The council is chaired by the state Commissioner for Environment, Mayowa Adejorin, while the Commissioner for Cooperative and Empowerment, Bayo Ogungbangbe, was appointed deputy chairman.

Adesoji Baderin was named Director-General, with Ladesuyi Tope and Sola Adeyekun serving as deputy directors-general for Obokun and Oriade respectively.

Omotoso Eniola was appointed secretary, while Ademola Asaju will serve as assistant secretary. Sodiq Lawal Chocomilo was named spokesperson.

According to Olajengbesi, the campaign council comprises political stakeholders, professionals, community leaders, women, youths, students and grassroots mobilisers drawn from across the constituency.

The council has 20 committees responsible for political strategy, grassroots mobilisation, ward coordination, youth and women affairs, media and publicity, digital communication, research and policy, legal compliance, election monitoring, finance, logistics and security, among others.

The campaign team is also expected to coordinate engagements with professional groups, students, religious organisations, political stakeholders and members of the diaspora.

Olajengbesi, a lawyer and Accord Party candidate, is challenging the incumbent representative, Wole Oke, who has represented the constituency in the House of Representatives for more than two decades.
