The Imole Campaign Council has reacted to a recent live television interview involving the Osun State All Progressives Congress spokesperson, Remi Omowaiye, describing the appearance as reflective of the opposition party’s alleged lack of clear agenda for the state.

In a statement on Monday, spokesperson of the council, Pelumi Olajengbesi, said the television exchange exposed what he termed the APC’s inability to defend its past record or present a convincing plan for Osun State.

He said, “when a party cannot articulate a vision, it is often because its only programme is a calculated return to the treasury,” adding that the opposition had failed to justify its call for a return to power.

Olajengbesi accused the APC of mismanaging the state’s resources while in office, alleging that it left behind a difficult financial situation and was rejected by voters due to poor performance.

He further claimed that the party was now seeking a return not to serve the people but to restore what he described as a failed system.

Commenting on the former Commissioner for Works, Remi Omowaiye, Olajengbesi questioned his performance during his tenure, particularly in Ijesa land, while noting that residents were now benefiting from ongoing infrastructure projects under the current administration.

He also said the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke had recorded visible progress in infrastructure development and public service delivery across the state.

According to him, “roads are being built, systems are being restored, and confidence is returning,” insisting that governance had improved under the current leadership.

The statement added that the APC’s criticism of the present administration was contradictory, especially as citizens continue to benefit from ongoing projects initiated by the Adeleke government.

Olajengbesi maintained that Osun residents would not return to what he described as a past marked by poor governance, saying the electorate had already moved on from the APC’s leadership.
